Air Release

This test method is used to determine the ability of certain oils to separate entrained air. The maximum air release time is 30 minutes. The sample is heated to the required temperature of 25°C, 50°C or 75°C and compressed air is blown at a monitored flow rate through the test oil. After the air flow is shut off, the time that it takes the entrained air in the oil to reduce in volume to 0.2% (v/v) is noted and reported.
