Grease Analysis

Grease lubrication and analysis are often overlooked, however, increasing importance is being placed on condition monitoring of grease lubricated components as a maintenance tool to reduce the frequency of failure.  Analysis can help to identify wear, excessive heat, dirt and even degradation (oxidation).  It can also confirm the background grease specification including additives.  Where component failure has occurred, or considered likely, additional investigation by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) can assist in root cause analysis.
