Launch of the new Fuel Verification Analysis Service for the Superyacht market

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new service for the superyacht market to assist with the verification of fuel when taken onboard, or indeed if contamination is suspected at any time.

The consequences of off-spec fuel can be significant and not only in engine performance but downstream too with microbial contamination and, of equal seriousness, the environmental and legal implications of a high sulphur content.

 “Fuel is the lifeblood of a vessel and it has an immediate and direct effect on the operation and safety of the yacht - knowing the quality of the fuel could not be more vital.” said Larry Rumbol, Marine Business Development Manager at Spectro | Jet-Care.  “The new Spectro | Jet-Care Fuel Verification Sample kit assists with sampling when taking fuel onboard and provides a quick and accurate analysis of the fluid for complete peace of mind”.                       

The Spectro Jet-Care Fuel Verification Sample Kit comprises three 500 ml sample bottles with tamper proof and unique numbered tags. Samples are taken and tagged during delivery – one sample is sent to the Laboratory for analysis and the second and third samples are kept onboard for potential verification purposes.  This could be a Port State Authority, or Coastguard, questioning Sulphur content or a dispute with the fuel supplier, if the lab report shows off-spec fuel. The tamper proof tagged bottles are undeniable proof that they are samples from that specific fuel delivery.
