Spectro | Jet-Care Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation and Industry Expertise at SMM Hamburg

HAMBURG, GERMANY – 1st SEPTEMBER 2026 — As global specialist in laboratory analysis, engine trend monitoring and condition monitoring services, we are proud to celebrate 50 years in business, marking five decades of technological innovation, industry expertise and long-standing customer relationships.

Founded in 1976 by David Glass, Spectro | Jet-Care has grown from its early pioneering work in laboratory analysis and engine trend monitoring into an international organisation serving customers across the marine, aviation and industrial sectors. Today, the company operates ISO 17025 accredited laboratories in the United Kingdom, United States and Switzerland, providing customers with accurate and timely analytical data to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of mission-critical machinery.

The Company’s 50-year journey has been characterised by a continued ability to adapt to changing technology and customer requirements. Its services - including oil, hydraulic fluid, fuel, filter and debris analysis - now support a broad range of equipment and applications, while long-term contracts and strategic relationships with major propulsion, azimuth-drive, shaft-line, gearbox and stabiliser OEMs reflect the depth of technical expertise and trust developed over the decades.

“Reaching 50 years is an important milestone, but for us it is also an opportunity to look ahead,” said Alan Baker, Sales & Marketing Manager. “Our success has always been built around technical expertise, the most advanced scientific equipment, and the ability to relate accurate and pertinent data to the needs of our customers. We are proud of what has been achieved over five decades and equally excited about the opportunities ahead as technology advances and the science of condition monitoring continues to evolve.”

The anniversary also recognises the contribution of founder David Glass, whose focus on quality, innovation and customer service established the principles that continue to underpin the business today.

For customers operating increasingly sophisticated and mission-critical equipment, access to dependable condition information has become an essential part of maintenance and operational strategy. Spectro | Jet-Care continues to invest in its people, laboratory capabilities and technology to ensure that customers receive the information they need to quickly and simply identify potential issues, optimise maintenance and support equipment reliability

The Company has developed a particularly strong reputation within the offshore support vessel (OSV), superyacht and cruise sectors, where oil analysis and condition monitoring play an important role in supporting the reliability and performance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery.

Celebrating 50 Years at SMM Hamburg

Spectro | Jet-Care will celebrate its 50th anniversary during SMM Hamburg 2026, the international maritime trade fair for shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology, taking place from 1–4 September 2026.

The Company will host a Champagne Reception on its stand during the exhibition, bringing together customers, partners and industry colleagues to celebrate the milestone and reflect on five decades of progress.

While the anniversary provides an opportunity to look back with pride, Spectro | Jet-Care says its focus remains firmly on the future — continuing to develop its analytical capabilities and services to meet the evolving needs of the global maritime, industrial and aviation sectors.
