Software Developer
A Software Developer vacancy is available, to work in our IT team, at Odiham, Hampshire. This is a permanent, full time position, responsible for developing internal software for the variety of services that we provide. They will also work in deploying, enhancing, and troubleshooting application developments across all companies in the group, as may be required.
Some of the responsibilities are:
- Enhancement and development of software applications/services.
- Troubleshooting and security of the software developments.
- Understanding of integration and partnership with internal/external data.
- Liaison with other departments to develop and implement their requirements.
- Software performance management and speed improvements.
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, motivated, with a willingness to learn, who are able to use their initiative, and think independently. The successful candidate should:
- Ideally have, Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft database server management certifications.
- Have proven experience in software development and developed application support, primarily Microsoft application and web development understanding, knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, LAN, VPNs, and security products such as anti-virus.
- Have at least one years’ experience
- software development using Microsoft tools,
- database administration & management using Microsoft tools,
- network connectivity/security understanding an implementation, and
- security and performance understanding.
- Have excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to end users, and with all levels of staff.
- Be prepared to work outside the standard working hours per week, as may be required, and be prepared to travel, e.g. in the UK and internationally.
The hours are Monday to Friday, nominally 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, as agreed and set with the manager.
